Potterhanworth Pre School
Potterhanworth Preschool is an educational establishment that offers children aged 2 to 4 years old a safe, secure and positive learning environment. Our ethos is supporting children’s development through play and their interests whilst introducing topics from the world around us. We strive to make sure we meet the needs of all the children and families that access our setting and provide ample opportunities for parents/carers to be involved in their child’s preschool journey.
At preschool we continuously support and promote children’s independence and resilience and provide stimulating activities that engage the children and make them excited and happy to learn. We are constantly changing our environment, which is a result from reviewing how the children are accessing it and what their interests are at the time.
Potterhanworth preschool is in the idyllic village of Potterhanworth and is on the site of CofE Potterhanworth Primary School. This means children have a first-hand experience of school life as they interact with the school children who love to come and greet them as they are playing outside, building up their social skills. We are also very fortunate to have access to the school grounds and use all areas including the allotment, sensory garden, outside classroom and school hall.
In our preschool we have many different areas for the children to access including our sensory corner with our bubble tubes and fidget toys, providing a calm area for the children to rest. We also have our reading area with CD player and headphones so the children can listen to music or an exciting story. We have our home corner which is full of real-life objects that the children can explore first hand, and we also have our art area where the children have opportunity to use drawing equipment, practise using scissors or use our junk modelling tools to create from their imagination. We have our photo wall where we place all artwork to show every child is an artist.
